You Really Should Learn to Smoke and BBQ Beef Brisket
When I started smoking, everyone told me that I should leave BBQ Beef Brisket to the pros. Now this was a problem because BBQ Beef Brisket has long been my all time favorite food. Being one to follow directions, I did start with pork, ribs and a few other things, but I really could not hold off any longer. I decided to pick up a brisket and try my hand at smoking.
The good news is that there are millions of recipes and instructions on how to smoke BBQ Beef Brisket. Following directions came in handy again when I threw caution to the wind and made my first attempt. I went with a fat side up slow cooking method in my electric Old Smokey smoker. I used hickory chips and some rub with love. After setting everything up I came back when the brisket hit 190 degrees. To make a long story short, the meat was good but not excellent.
